The Old Sweet Shop have let us know that as well as stocking mainstream Fairtrade Chocolate (Cadbury), they also stock several Fairtrade coffee beans

Their stock includes Tanzanian and Sumatran Zero Defect, but they are most proud of their latest find - Peru Feminino.  Cafe Feminino is an organisation that supports women farmers and their families in coffee growing communities.  The coffee is organic and Fairtrade Certified, the latter of course meaning that it was purchased from small-holding farmers at a "fair" or economically sustainable price.

The tasting notes for the coffee are as follows:

Rich, deep aroma: nut, a hint of chocolate.  In the cup soft acidity, lightly syrupy mouthfeel, and a distinct and pleasing sweet cocoa note complicated by roasted nut.  Gently rich though rather short finish.

Delicately crisp, pleasingly cocoa-toned coffee with impeccable environmental and socio-economic credentials, this coffee satisfies the taste buds and your social conscience!
